Our easily offended society in the West looks to be doomed in the future. But there is some hope. Or just live life under your own circumstances and take a break from it all.
Thanks Jordan... you're not alone in your views. I have several comments to make:
1) I have been that middle manager in a large company and forced to repeat the woke mantras. It's highly unlikely that anyone in that situation has a choice in the matter. Most large companies have made strong commitments to DEI and have a reconciliation action plan. You can opt out, but you probably have financial commitments and can't replace your salary that easily. Not making excuses, I took the money and ran. Just observing the 'handcuffs' that make people acquiesce.
2) my mother is Brazilian and she told me that when she was at uni in the 60s, the CIA were on the hunt for communists and many young people were disappeared. 10 years later, most of those
I consider myself “woke” in the original sense (equal opportunity for all), but it’s gotten out of hand in the States. I’m happy to now live in a country where people don’t waste time arguing about a Bud Light commercial.
Can confirm - I work in a public school, NYC area. Oddly, in the black community where I am, lots of the really wacko oddball woke nonsense gets no traction at all. Very ironic. It’s quite nice all things considered. As a staff, we speak a lot of non woke Truth and the student’s appreciate it.
The woke progressive weirdos have already taken control. The mindset I’ve adopted is that even here, in NYC, it opens up a TON of opportunities. Competent people, who not only show up on time, but also know how things work or are able to learn, are at a premium.
Who needs a soy faced manlet or a magenta haired Karen who only knows how to scream about global warming and racism on social media?
Answer: Nobody.
Capable men and women shine brightly here - in everything from the service industry to the trades to local businesses.
Very good point ! People are hired because they fit a certain stereotype in the West these days. Incompetence will eventually lead to poor company performance and hope for us all in the future.
Great article, Jordan - thanks!
Thanks for reading Andrew.

Yep, I’m completely for equal opportunity. The best “person” the most qualified and suitable for the job is how an enterprise should be hiring.
Agreed, Latin America is great for this.
Not just in hiring, but where advancement comes from merit/accomplishments and not through asskissing and adherence to BS company policy
Exactly! By hiring I also mean advancing. Saw this first hand at my last company.
Yep, I worked at a company like that too
Great post.
